AxyomCore Expands Red Hat OpenShift Support to include Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes Engine

AxyomCore has announced that its cloud-native 4G and 5G Core portfolio now supports Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes Engine, expanding the deployment options available to operators and enterprises.

AxyomCore was already validated for deployment on Red Hat OpenShift. Support for Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes Engine now gives customers an additional option for deployments that require foundational, security-focused capabilities of enterprise Kubernetes on Red Hat Enterprise Linux CoreOS to run containers in hybrid cloud environments.

The expanded support is particularly relevant for private 5G, edge, regional mobile network and mobile virtual network operators (MVNO) deployments, where platform requirements can vary significantly depending on scale, location and operational model. This approach can help reduce operational overhead and deliver significant OPEX savings.

AxyomCore provides a converged portfolio of cloud-native 4G and 5G core network functions designed from the ground up using Kubernetes-first architectures and open ecosystem technologies. Unlike legacy virtualized or container-wrapped network functions, AxyomCore’s network functions are built as true cloud-native network functions, supporting elastic scaling, resilience, automation and portability across private and public cloud environments.

Key capabilities include:

  • Cloud-native architecture: Microservices-based network functions designed for Kubernetes environments
  • Flexible scaling: Horizontal scaling across control and user plane functions
  • Operational resilience: High availability, automated recovery and production-proven reliability
  • Deployment flexibility: Support for centralized, distributed, edge, private cloud and hybrid environments
  • Streamlined operations: Integrated lifecycle management, monitoring and observability

Built on years of real-world deployments with Tier-1 operators, AxyomCore combines carrier-grade performance and operational maturity with a streamlined deployment model suited to networks of different sizes.

“Private 5G, edge and distributed network deployments have very different requirements depending on their scale, location and operational environment,” said Pete Koat, CEO of AxyomCore. “By supporting Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes Engine, AxyomCore gives customers a production-ready and scalable mobile core platform that can be aligned more closely with focused and smaller-scale use cases, while retaining the reliability and operational maturity proven in Tier-1 networks.”

“AxyomCore has demonstrated strong expertise in delivering cloud-native 4G and 5G core network functions for demanding service provider and enterprise environments,” said Honoré LaBourdette, Vice President of Global Telco Ecosystem at Red Hat. “Its support for Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes Engine gives customers another powerful deployment option for mobile core workloads, combining carrier-grade network performance with the flexibility, consistency and operational benefits of enterprise Kubernetes.”

With support for both Red Hat OpenShift and Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes Engine, AxyomCore gives operators and enterprises greater flexibility in how they deploy and manage cloud-native mobile core network functions.

The AxyomCore 4G and 5G Core portfolio on Red Hat OpenShift Kubernetes Engine is available now for customer deployments and trials.
